SEMICON EU 2024: Saxon State Secretary Thomas Kralinski visits Adenso booth

On November 13, 2024, Thomas Kralinski, State Secretary at the Saxon Ministry of Economic Affairs, visited our Adenso booth at SEMICON Europa 2024 in Munich. In addition to current developments in the semiconductor industry, especially Saxony as the largest microelectronics production location in Europe, the focus of our joint discussions was above all the exchange on a better connection of the “Silicon.Road” in Dresden.

Silicon.Road leads from the Boxdorf industrial estate, which includes the companies Adenso and Fraunhofer IZM-ASSID, to Dresden in the direction of Königsbrücker Straße and Infineon. Numerous other companies from the microelectronics sector such as GlobalFoundries, Jenoptik, BOSCH, Camline or, in future, ESMC etc. are located along Silicon.Road. All locations and commercial areas in the north of Dresden should be better connected to public transport. The task of extending the existing tram line 8 so that it reaches into the Boxdorf district was therefore discussed with State Secretary Kralinski in order to make this industrial area attractive for environmentally conscious commuters – as a prerequisite for further growth of the companies on Silicon Road.

We would like to thank Mr. Kralinski for the good discussions at SEMICON EU 2024 and are excited to see how the north of Dresden will develop in the next few years.
